SCANDINAVIA SAND MINE
FINAL DECISION MEETING

WHO: EVERYONE Is Invited To Attend

WHEN: Tuesday, August 22nd, 9 am

WHERE: Waupaca County Courthouse, Room LL42, 811 Harding Street, Waupaca

The Waupaca County Planning & Zoning Committee will hold a second public meeting on Tuesday, August 22nd at 9 am in the Waupaca County Courthouse to determine the permit application brought by the Iola Car Show and Faulks Bros for a sand mine in the Township of Scandinavia. The board will hear a staffers recommendation to approve the permit from Zoning Director Ryan Brown and Zoning Administrator Jason Snyder before deliberating the other merits of the permit.

The public will be allowed to attend this meeting, but no new testimony will be allowed. This meeting will be for the board to discuss the merits of the permit application. We do not know if a decision will be made that day or in the days after that meeting.

Other ways to attend the meeting:

The Waupaca County Planning & Zoning Committee has the final say in this matter, but the Township of Scandinavia has already strongly recommended to the board that the permit should be denied. The Town of Scandinavia Planning & Zoning Committee unanimously voted to deny the permit on May 3rd and then the full Town of Scandinavia Board unanimously voted to deny the permit on May 10th. Those are only recommendations, but it would be unprecedented for the county to overrule the municipality.

We know this is a tough time for residents to attend as it is at 9 am on a Tuesday, but we highly recommend EVERYONE TO ATTEND the meeting. It's important to show the County Board what the Township Board learned over 13+ hours of Informational Meetings: That there is overwhelming sentiment against this sand mine because of the Location, Location, Location of this sand mine.

PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING and let's end this nightmare permit application once and for all.
